Let’s Talk: Self Tanner

With fall here and winter being right around the corner our summer glow is quickly fading, leaving us looking a little pale. Through many blotchy uneven self tanners I’ve tried in the past, I found what I believe to be the perfect self tanner. While on my search for my summer glow I came across the St. Tropez Self Tanner. This self tanner is in mouse form which for one I really enjoy, it’s streak free and can be applied using an applicator mitt. The St. Tropez Self Tanner doesn’t smell like harsh chemicals but instead has a nice fragrance scent. It’s also Parabens, Sulfates and Phthalates free, which is a total win! I try to void going to tanning salons because it can become a little expense and found this to be the perfect inexpensive at home self tanner. Through trial and error I finally came up with a tanning routine that works for me and I thought I would share it with you!

Here are 5 easy steps on how to apply self tanner.

Step 1: Exfoliate 24 hours before self tanning. This is important because you want a soft fresh layer of skin to make your tan appear more natural.
Step 2: Moisturize everywhere you are going to self tan even your hands and feet. This will help your tanner go on easily.
Step 3: Apply self tanner using the tan applicator mitt or using a face buffer brush. This helps prevent streaks and gives you a more natural look.
Step 4: Wait until your tan is dry before getting dressed. Also wear loose clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty in case of transfer. Before showering wait four to eight hours until your tan has developed.
Step 5: Make sure you moisturize daily as well as exfoliate, this will help keep your tan looking fresh and glowy.

Thank you so much for reading, I hope you found this helpful! Happy tanning!
